Our second team visited both the Sittee River and San Pablo areas of Belize.
Sittee River is a Methodist School having approximately 80 students from preschool to standard six (which is the equivalent of U.S.eighth grade). The children speak English, but are more fluent in their Creole language. The Sittee River school has a large classroom which is available for our clinic.
This team will also travel inland to the mountain village of San Pablo. San Pablo is a Roman Catholic School of 125 children who also learn English in school, but most are more fluent in their native Q’eqchi Mayan language. Here we also serve the children of migrant Guatemalan and Honduran families who work in the neighboring banana farms.
